Position Information Galungara Public School opened in 2021 and aspires to be outstanding through the purposeful use of innovative learning environments that promote the development of creative and critical thinkers capable of deep inquiry. This encompasses the utilisation of technology-based platforms to engage in teaching and learning and a commitment to collaborative teaching in flexible learning spaces. Galungara Public School has accommodation for approximately 1 000 students to best meet the anticipated significant and rapid growth of the area. With a current enrolment of 831 students, students K-6, including those from non-English speaking backgrounds (87%) and students who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (1.4%) along with three classes that cater for students with disabilities, Galungara Public prides itself on its inclusive environment. As a school community, we have identified three strategic visions for the future in which we prioritise;
* ensuring our students acquire the necessary skills in literacy and numeracy
* enacting an agile learning culture that encapsulates the whole child and;

Selection Criteria In addition to the general selection criteria;
* Approval to teach infants and/or primary and proven successful experience to lead the implementation of high quality, differentiated literacy and numeracy programs across a stage.
* Proven experience in the effective use of evidence to evaluate current practices, with an ability to inspire and support teachers to implement contemporary teaching and learning.
* Evidence of a deep understanding of student wellbeing with a strong understanding of equity and diversity to build positive relationships and an inclusive school culture that ensures that every student can thrive and flourish.
* Evidence of approachable and collaborative leadership with highly developed interpersonal skills and the capacity to build positive relationships with the wider school community.

General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
