About the role 
Thorne Harbour Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate LGBTIQ+ Specialist Mental Health Clinician to join our team in Melton. This role is part of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Local Service model, ensuring accessible, inclusive, and trauma-informed care for LGBTIQ+ people experiencing mental ill health or psychological distress. 
Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will: 
- Provide comprehensive mental health assessments and evidence-based interventions. 
- Deliver therapeutic care tailored to the unique needs of LGBTIQ+ clients and their families (including chosen family). 
- Collaborate with peer practitioners and lived experience staff to create affirming services. 
- Use a trauma-informed and intersectional approach to care planning and service delivery. 
- Contribute to co-design initiatives that centre the voices of LGBTIQ+ communities. 
What’s on offer 
In addition to your salary of SCHADS Level 5 (pro-rata) and superannuation, Thorne Harbour also pays above award. You’ll also receive 17.5% leave loading and an ability to increase your take-home pay by accessing up to $15,900 in salary packaging advantages.

About you 
You will have a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline. You will also bring to the role: 
- Personal lived experience within the LGBTQIA+ community, demonstrating resilience and a commitment to mental health and wellbeing. 
- Eligibility for registration with AHPRA or AASW. 
- Clinical experience in mental health assessment and therapeutic interventions. 
- A strong understanding of the mental health needs of LGBTIQ+ communities. 
- The ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with clients, peers, and service partners. 
- Postgraduate qualifications in counselling and experience working with LGBTIQ+ clients are highly regarded.
