**About the Team**
This role will report to our Material Planning Lead and will be part of a team of 5. Our Inventory Planning team will continue to grow throughout this year as RDA moves closer to increased production. This role is based at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence in Redbank.
**About the Role**
The material planner will ensure that the supply of materials to meet the production schedule, after sales is knownn and communicated. They will monitor minimum stock levels and escalate where required to ensure operational and production continuity. They will review and monitor MRP outputs to ensure material demand is aligned to production requirements. The position is responsible for ensuring all materials have demand satisfied and shortfalls are identified and will facilitate expediting to minimise production impact. Reporting to the Material Planning Lead the material planner will be an integral part of the material management team and will interact with the warehouse, inventory, procurement, production planning and operations teams.
The general and generic duties of the Material Planner include, but not limited to:
- Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements;
- Understand and manage risks to minimise impact on production schedule;
- Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production;
- Implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement;
- Utilise any Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required;
- Priorities MRP purchase recommendations and provide guidance to purchasing department;
- Monitor the impact of engineering change on production material availability and ensure appropriate actions are initiated and escalate identified issues;
- Work with the inventory team to identify inventory optimisation activities;
- Provide input into procurement to ensure purchase order cancellation signals are communicated and monitor status to minimise working capital impacts;
- Suggest alternate stocking methods to suit production method changes;
- Support the warehouse and inventory teams in optimising material usage and working capital; and
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan and facilitate on-time materials to the production line as and when required, avoiding disruption to production.

- Detailed understanding of MRP planning tools
- Detailed experience with SAP
- Excellent communication skills
- Detailed knowledge of manufacturing processes
- APICS or CIPS qualifications
- 5+ years material planning experience
