Due to continuing growth, we require an Estimator on a full-time permanent basis with immediate start who is willing to work in an office environment in West Perth (Parking provided) and reporting directly into the Estimating Manager.
The successful candidate will work closely with the construction and tendering team, and will have a proven track record in winning earthworks, underground services and roadwork tenders. As Senior Estimator, you will provide technical services, support and be required to complete tenders or bids by building up rates, schedules, quantities and pricing, ensuring that all key tender conditions are complied with and that tender pricing is supplied in time for submission. You will also ensure that cost estimates are transcribed clearly with our estimating software Expert Estimator.
Your Duties and responsibilities will include:
* Liaise with Estimating Manager regarding the decision to tender on specific projects
* First principle estimation for earthworks, roadworks and mining contracts from $1m up to $40m
* Prepare simple tender programs
* Prepare technical clarifications
* Request for information
* Undertake risk and opportunity analysis strategies for each tender
* Quantity take-offs
* Prepare tender methodologies
* Site visits
* Liaise with sub-contractors for quotes to support tenders
* Prepare tender documentation for tender review meeting
* Assist other estimators with gathering information for tenders
* Keep senior managers informed of the status of tender applications
Your background:
* Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Engineering or a related discipline
* Extensive experience with first principles estimation for civil earthmoving projects, or ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and capability
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills
* Highly developed planning and negotiation skills
* Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
* Proficient with the MS Office Suite and MS Project
* Excellent time management skills; ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload
* Good interpersonal relations; ability to liaise in a professional manner with internal and external clients
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
