Role Overview
As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency across our Victorian locations but also use your sound understanding of technology to lead Group's implementations. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will need to exhibit strong technical skills and a good understanding of compliance and organisational systems.
Key Responsibilities
Consolidation and Reporting: assist with the consolidation process, and managing the end‑of‑month financial reporting process including reconciliations and journal entries for the Victorian locations.
Preparing timely analysis of results for the senior leadership and assist in the preparation of monthly board report.
Assist with the compliance with statutory requirements, including leading audit and tax obligations (GST, FBT, and BAS).
Cost Management and Accuracy: ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of operating costs, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and forecasts.
Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision‑making.
Driving improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting efficiencies through platform, PowerBI or PowerQuery implementations.
Strategic Planning and Special Projects: assisting the CFO with strategic planning and special projects, working closely with senior management and key stakeholders.
Business partnering with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and guidance.
Assist with any potential future M&A activity.
Develop and ensure compliance with the policies & procedures that support the Finance function.
About You
To excel in this role, you will have:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role or Chartered first mover for either audit or business services experience.
Completed or working towards a CPA or CA qualification (or equivalent).
Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax compliance.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with building reports in Power BI/Power Query is desirable.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with high attention to detail.
A proactive mindset with drive, determination, and a willingness to take initiative.
