Qvest Australia is seeking an experienced and reliable Casual AV / Broadcast Installer to join our team, based in Sydney and willing to travel both nationally and internationally.
This is a hands‐on role suited to someone with solid experience in the installation of professional AV, broadcast, and ICT systems, as well as workshop assembly and the fabrication of custom A/V cables to meet project and client requirements. You will work across a range of activities including equipment installation, cable termination and management, workshop assembling, documentation update and other office‐based or site‐based tasks.
Responsibilities
* Undertake on‐site installation of professional AV, broadcast, and ICT systems to a high standard
* Perform workshop assembly, system preparation, and factory acceptance testing
* Fabricate, solder, and terminate custom audio and video cables based on project and client requirements
* Assist with rack building, equipment installation, and system assembly
* Read and follow technical drawings, cable schedules, and installation documentation
* Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other site personnel to complete installation activities
* Support testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities where required
* Maintaining a tidy and organised work environment is a must
* Maintaining a safe and professional standard of work in both office and on‐site environments
* Travel to project locations within Australia and internationally as required
* Work outside normal business hours when required
Skills
* Minimum 3 years' experience in professional AV system installation, broadcast system installation, workshop assembly, and site cabling works
* Strong hands‐on experience in soldering, custom cable fabrication, cable termination, and structured installation work
* Familiarity with ICT‐related installation practices would be highly regarded
* A good understanding of ICT, networking, and A/V engineering concepts would be an advantage
* Ability to use the correct tools, interpret technical drawings, and complete installation work accurately and neatly
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to professional standards
* Ability to work independently on site as well as part of a wider project team
* Good communication skills and a professional attitude
* Willingness and ability to travel for project work
* Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government NV1 security clearance. Existing NV1 clearance will be highly regarded.
