Role Description
The Family Lawyer role is a full-time position based on-site in Canberra. Responsibilities include providing legal advice and representation to clients on family law matters such as parenting arrangements, property settlements, and other family law-related disputes. The lawyer will draft legal documents, negotiate agreements, liaise with clients and opposing counsel, and represent clients in court. The role requires a dedication to achieving the best possible outcomes for clients while delivering compassionate and professional service.
Qualifications
* Thorough knowledge of family law, including property settlements, parenting arrangements, and related disputes
* Strong legal drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution skills
* Demonstrated experience in managing a diverse case load independently
* Excellent communication, client management, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to represent clients in various courts, including Family Court and Federal Circuit Court
* Admission as a legal practitioner in Australia and a current practicing certificate
* 3–5+ years post-admission experience (PAE) in family law
* Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
