Curatorial Assistant Role Description:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to support our curatorial team in Canberra. The Curatorial Assistant will play a key role in providing administrative assistance for high-profile projects, including NFSA Restores and Sounds of Australia.
The successful applicant will have excellent research skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and provide detailed collection descriptions. They will also possess strong logistical skills, with experience in preparing and delivering digital files.
Key Responsibilities:
* Administrative Assistance: Providing support for projects, including collection research and data quality;
* Logistical Support: Undertaking project logistics tasks, including preparing and delivering digital files;
* Research and Record Keeping: Conducting research and maintaining accurate records;
* Financial Management: Preparing invoice payments accurately to ensure timely processing;
* Collection Accessioning: Undertaking accessioning tasks, including born-digital materials and digital ingest;
* Collection Description: Providing accurate collection descriptions, including media formats and condition information.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate knowledge of collection description, handling, and control, as well as experience in research and record keeping. You will also require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
