Ifyou'relooking for meaningful work, long-term stability, and a supportive team environment, we'd love to hear from you.
Job Description
About the Role
As a Bus Driver at Metro, you'll help keep Tasmania moving-safely, reliably, and with care. You'll transport passengers to work, school, appointments, and community activities, playing a vital role in everyday life across the state.
You don't need previous bus driving experience. If you can safely drive a car, we'll teach you the rest. Our six‐week paid training program is designed to build confidence gradually, with hands‐on support, clear expectations, and experienced mentors. You'll graduate with a Heavy Rigid (Metro‐specific) licence and receive ongoing guidance once you're on the road.
You'll never be left to figure things out alone. Our drivers are supported by clear safety procedures, strong fatigue management, modern buses, and supervisors who encourage questions and prioritise wellbeing.
Why You'll Enjoy Working at Metro
* Competitive full‐time salary: $68,500 – $94,000 per year (base rate on commencement $31.94 per hour, plus applicable penalties and loadings)

* Personalised wellbeing program and Employee Assistance Program
