Waste Project Officer
Temporary Full-time position (until September 2028)
Hours: 35 hours a week + VDO off every 19-days
Hybrid working model - work from home opportunities
Salary: Attractive and Competitive Salary: $103,974.52 - $120,835.78 + 12% Superannuation per annum.

What You\'ll Do
As a Waste Project Officer, you\'ll report to the Coordinator Waste Services and be responsible for ensuring environmental and administrative compliance across Council's waste management facilities and services. The role supports the development and delivery of strategic objectives for waste services, including the review and implementation of the Waste Management & Resource Recovery Strategy.
The role is responsible for leading projects that deliver great waste outcomes for the community through effective waste minimisation, recycling, and resource recovery initiatives. It contributes to the procurement and management of waste contracts, provides input into development assessments, supports disaster response planning, and helps ensure Council remains aligned with relevant legislation, policies, and industry standards.

What You\'ll Need
* Tertiary qualifications in relevant field with demonstrated significant experience in waste management and resource recovery or extensive relevant experience in a relevant field.
* Sound knowledge of waste management issues including compliance of licenced facilities.
* An ability to solve complex problems and apply critical thinking.
* Experience working in and contributing to a diverse and multidisciplinary team.
* An ability to prepare written advice and reports.
Other Requirements
* Be willing to complete a pre-employment medical prior to commencement
* Hold and maintain a current C Class Driver\'s Licence
