Carnarvon Community College is seeking to establish a pool of Secondary Generalist Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
As a Secondary Generalist Teacher, you will ideally possess the capacity to provide a learning environment that is caring, engaging, and differentiated to cater for a range of learning needs. You will ideally have the ability to deliver the Western Australian Curriculum and have an excellent understanding of the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework. We are seeking teachers who have strong classroom management and skills to engage students successfully.
Suitable applicants will ideally have the capacity to teach one or more learning areas, preferably Mathematics, Science, English, Digital Technologies and/or Humanities and Social Sciences. Suitable applicants should ideally be motivated and committed to creating an engaging, inclusive, and challenging learning environment; based on high accountability and sound expectations to ensure all students achieve their maximum potential. You will ideally be flexible, have a strong work ethic, and develop positive, productive partnerships with students, colleagues, and the community.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.

hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration. be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
