**Patient Services Assistant (Emergency Department - Modular Unit)**
**Sunday - Wednesday 7.30 - 15.30**

**Our Journey**:
Support Services is responsible for the provision of non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.
The General Services department at Casey Hospital requires a qualified Patient Services Assistant to work as part of our team in the Emergency Department Modular Unit. We are looking for a flexible person who is keen to fill a permanent part time role with an opportunity to back fill additional shifts where available.
**Ongoing permanent position available**
**Sunday - Wednesday 7.30 - 15.30**
**_ (60 hours per fortnight) _**
**A Day in the Life**:
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Ward and department cleaning
- Bed making
- Use of lifting equipment; bed movers and wheelchairs
- Assisting nursing staff as requested
- Transfer & cleaning of ward equipment
**What you bring**:
A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team and flexibility to change shifts or cover staff leave at short notice
**On a Personal level**:
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- Takes pride in your work with great attention to detail
- Has great time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
**What you need**:
- Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)
- Previous experience as a patient services assistant (Desirable)
- Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures.
- Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and procedures
- Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
- A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team
