Your new role
As an Assistant Director (EL1), you will play a critical role in delivering components of a nationally significant reform program focused on improving community engagement and social licence outcomes for energy infrastructure and clean energy development.
You will be responsible for:
Leading and supporting delivery of work related to key national recommendations on community engagement.
Collaborating across government and with external stakeholders, including industry groups, lived‑experience panels, state and territory governments, and delivery partners.
Providing high‑quality written products including briefs, advice, and communication materials.
Managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment, while contributing to strategic thinking and problem‑solving.
Supporting team members, and potentially supervising junior staff.
This role offers exposure to interconnected policy areas and an opportunity to influence nationally significant outcomes in the clean energy transition.
What you'll need to succeed
Knowledge & Experience
Experience driving community engagement, social licence or policy outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.
Experience designing or implementing programs or initiatives in a complex policy or project environment.
Skills & Capabilities
Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence and communicate clearly.
Skills or experience in one or more of the following:
social licence, engagement or policy analysis
stakeholder management
program or initiative design and delivery
energy or infrastructure project contexts
Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under limited supervision.
Creative problem‑solving skills and a collaborative approach.
Enthusiasm, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.
Ability to mentor or supervise junior staff.
