A part-time opportunity exists in the Parliamentary Reporting Division for a Hansard Reporter to prepare and edit transcripts of parliamentary proceedings and other related events.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and edit transcripts of parliamentary proceedings and other related events using technology such as digital audio recording and voice-to-text transcription tools.

Demonstrate a high level of keyboard/word processing competency, an ability to transcribe and edit to a specified standard in an efficient manner using relevant technology.

Work as a member of a diverse team to achieve shared goals and objectives.

Requirements:

Essential Requirements:
">
High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field an asset.
">
Three (3) years of experience in transcription, editing, or related field.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.

Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
">
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
">
Knowledge of parliamentary procedures and protocols an asset.
