We have an exciting opportunity for the best suited applicant to join our team at Pathology Queensland as a permanent full-time (part-time considered) Director in Anatomical Pathology at our Sunshine Coast Laboratory. The ideal candidate will demonstrate contemporary knowledge and skills and share our passion for clinical excellence.
Pathology Queensland (PQ) is a leading provider of diagnostic and laboratory services with 35 laboratories across Queensland. PQ plays a critical role in healthcare delivery, with a multidisciplinary team of 2,000 people involved in 70% of all medical decisions and all cancer diagnoses. We support over 450 point-of-care testing devices, expanding access to care.

What we are looking for
Key competencies (role-specific criteria):
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience supporting pathology services in Anatomical Pathology across a diverse laboratory network.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary for all aspects of the role.
* Skills, knowledge, and abilities in training, teaching, research, investigation, analysis, and management.
* Knowledge of ISO 15189 and NATA Medical Testing Requirements, demonstrating continued accreditation in your clinical specialty across the network.
Qualifications, registrations, and other requirements:
* Mandatory: Medical qualification, tertiary qualification in Anatomical or General Pathology (FRCPA or equivalent), and registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Specialist Pathologist.
* Desirable: Qualifications in medical administration or relevant experience in medical administration.
* Experience with directing teaching and applied research is also desirable.
* Fellows of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia or equivalent are required.
