Primary objective
Provide an efficient and effective high level of administrative and secretarial support to the Coordinator and health care professionals of
Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Nhulunbuy and ensure duties are undertaken in a timely and professional manner to meet program
goals.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Manage and provide professional, effective, and efficient administrative service for the Coordinator and health care professionals
in the Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Program, Tuberculosis/Leprosy Program, Surveillance, Immunisation and other CDC
Nhulunbuy Programs, including secretarial support, travel arrangements with responsibility for the Corporate Credit card, and
information-technology management.
1. Provide frontline receptionist duties including making appointments for Clinic 34 Clients, Chest Clinics, and Immunisation Clinics.
2. Provide administrative assistance to the Program staff as required.
3. Provide data entry for Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Program, Tuberculosis/Leprosy Program, Surveillance, Immunisation,
and other CDC Nhulunbuy Programs.
5. Provide support to CDC NT wide including administrative support as directed.
6. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in
order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated extensive experience in providing a high level of administrative, office procedures and personal assistance.
2. Demonstrated ability to work independently without supervision and use initiative and judgement in order to prioritise and meet
deadlines.
1. Proven high-level skills in use of information technology, including word processing, computerised presentation systems, and
databases.
1. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with other staff on all levels, members of the public and non-government
organisations.
1. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, manage own performance and use time management skills to prioritise work and
execute tasks.
6. Maturity, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
7. An ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
Desirable
1. Knowledge and experience of the Department of Health policies, procedures, and databases.
2. Awareness of cross-cultural issues and sensitivities.
3. A current Northern Territory driver's licence or ability to obtain.
