Job Title: Nutrition Support Assistant
Overview:
This role involves supporting patients and staff with meal preparation and delivery, maintaining kitchen areas and equipment, and engaging with patients, families, and staff in a respectful manner.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with meal preparation, cooking, and presentation according to dietary needs and preferences.
* Deliver meals to patients in wards and departments.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas and equipment.
Requirements:
* A Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or related field is highly regarded.
* At least 1-2 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
* Skills and Abilities:
* Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Selection Criteria:
1. Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
2. Relevant experience in a similar role in a healthcare setting.
3. Computer skills at a basic level.
4. Understanding of confidentiality.
5. Satisfactory National History Criminal Check prior to commencement of employment.
6. Food handler's certificate (can be obtained after commencement).
7. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
8. Ability to work with a wide variety of people.
9. Self-motivated with a high level of communication and organisational skills demonstrated ability to work alone.
