Recovery Oriented Peer Support Worker
As a Recovery Oriented Peer Support Worker, you will provide supportive assistance to individuals in their recovery journey. You will help participants navigate the community health system, access external support and provide information on community resources and services.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Assist individuals in navigating the community health system.
* Provide support for participants in their recovery journey.
* Share lived experience perspectives with the AOD team.
* Drive participants to services as required.
* Welcome new participants into the program through supporting them during the induction process.
* Develop and facilitate creative activities for participants.
* Provide opportunity for peer learning through support that complements community care.
* Model self-advocacy strategies and encourage participants towards self-advocacy.
About the Role
This is a part-time position located in Hobart VIC. The salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS award.
Requirements
* Lived experience of addiction and recovery.
* Knowledge of the alcohol and other drug sector in Tasmania.
* Understanding of harm minimisation approaches.
* Ability to demonstrate trauma informed practice.
* Evidence of completion of peer training.
* Certificate 4 in Community Services or related field.
* A National Criminal History Check is required.
