Our valued client are currently seeking a skilled and energetic Maintenance/Mechanical Fitter to join their Yatala QLD site as a Maintenance Supervisor working closely with a small, committed team of three and taking the lead on all mechanical repairs and maintenance. This is a full‐time, hands‐on position that blends leadership with real practical work. You'll be essential to keeping operations running seamlessly, minimizing downtime, and fostering teamwork in our fast‐paced setting.
You will take ownership of all maintenance activities across the plant, ensuring equipment, utilities, and infrastructure are maintained to support safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Operations
* Plan, schedule and perform preventive and corrective maintenance
* Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime
* Maintain production equipment including blow moulding, welding, assembly and reconditioning lines
* Oversee plant utilities (compressors, cooling systems, hydraulics, electrical systems)
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting
Continuous Improvement
* Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
* Analyse trends to reduce recurring breakdowns
* Work closely with production and engineering to improve performance
Safety & Compliance
* Ensure all work complies with WHS and company standards
* Conduct inspections, risk assessments and participate in safety meetings
* Maintain audit and compliance documentation
Team Support / Leadership
* Support, guide and coordinate electricians, apprentices and contractors
* Allocate work and monitor performance
* Promote a strong safety‐first culture
Inventory & Cost Control
* Promote/Manage spare parts and critical inventory
* Coordinate procurement of parts and services
* Monitor maintenance costs and support budgeting
About You
* An Australia‐recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification; or
* An overseas trade qualification that has been formally recognised/equivalent in Australia.
* Experience in Supervising a small team
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
* Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience advantageous
* Strong fault‐finding and problem‐solving capability
* Experience with SAP or similar systems advantageous
* Able to work both independently and as part of a team
* Safety‐focused with a proactive approach
* Comfortable working in a fast‐paced environment
* Full working rights in Australia.
* Highly Desired: Forklift licence, EWP licence, High risk work licence, Disconnect & reconnect licence.
