Project Overview
ACCIONA has been chosen to deliver the Western Harbour Tunnel – Stage 2, Sydney's third harbour crossing. The new tunnel will connect to WestConnex at the Rozelle Interchange, pass beneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton, and link with the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney.
Project Scope
* Construction of approximately 4.8 kilometres of mainline tunnels with three lanes in each direction.
* Civil, Mechanical and Electrical fit‑out of Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunnels.
* Surface‑level works including on‑ and off‑ramps and tie‑in work to the Warringah Freeway.
In partnership with TfNSW, ACCIONA will transform Berrys Bay from a working waterfront into foreshore public parklands. The NSW Government is committed to improving public open space and will deliver a new foreshore park offering community benefits.
Role Overview
We are looking for a full‑time Site Engineer to join our Operational Services Team in North Sydney. As a team player, you will actively contribute to construction planning and delivery, ensuring safety, quality and project objectives are met.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate planning of works to optimise scheduling, identifying and managing critical risks to meet or exceed safety, environment and quality targets.
* Manage daily construction activities in collaboration with engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, designers, support staff and client representatives.
* Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards and enforce safety protocols to mitigate project‑related risks.
* Implement and maintain strict quality control measures to ensure compliance with engineering standards and specifications.
* Prepare budgets, accruals, take‑offs and develop first‑principle estimates.
* Monitor daily costs and production.
* Review design and construction plans, schedules, temporary works designs, method statements and quality and safety documents.
* Integrate placemaking principles to enhance community spaces, promote social interaction, and improve quality of life for local residents.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (or a related discipline).
* Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
* Experience in earthworks, marine and structural engineering is advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with subcontractors, local authorities and internal teams.
