Role & Company Overview:
Our client is a leading Australian financial services and technology provider supporting investment managers across listed and unlisted markets. They are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Custody Operations to manage the custody operations for a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple asset classes.
Reporting into senior fund administration leadership, this role will lead the end-to-end delivery of custody operations. You will be responsible for shaping the custody operating model, leading platform implementation, and building a scalable, compliant and client-focused custody service aligned to the organisation's broader administration platform. This role will then provide leadership across critical custody functions, ensuring the secure oversight of assets, efficient cash processing, robust reconciliations and high-quality reporting.
You will offer strategic influence and leadership; partnering closely with fund administration, technology, product, risk and external vendors to deliver a best-in-class custody capability.This role is a permanent position and is based in Sydney, with flexible working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and delivery of the custody operating model, service framework and roadmap
* Own the end-to-end implementation of the custody platform, including system design, testing and go-live
* Lead and develop a high-performing custody operations team across the full trade lifecycle
* Oversee BAU custody operations, client onboarding and transitions
* Embed strong risk, compliance and control frameworks in line with Australian regulatory requirements
* Drive automation, process improvement and operational scalability
* Act as a senior escalation point for complex operational or client matters
Skills & Experience Required:
* Senior leadership experience within custody operations, fund administration or related financial services
* End-to-end custody lifecycle expertise, including settlement, corporate actions, asset pricing and reconciliations
* Proven experience leading custody or fund platform implementations and operating model builds
* Strong working knowledge of multiple asset classes and custody-related regulatory requirements
* Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels in a growing or transformational environment
* Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership capability
