At Dowdens Pumping and Water Treatment we deliver pumping and water treatment systems and solutions for projects across multiple industries.
Role Overview
Working closely with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, our Projects Engineers support the full project lifecycle – from early concept discussions, design-led tendering and coordination to commissioning and handover. Project Engineers are involved from project inception through to completion ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with technical and quality requirements.
The successful candidate will either currently reside in Mackay, Queensland or be willing to relocate.
Relocation assistance available if required. Candidates must be legally permitted to work in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and interpret client requirements, including technical scope, safety, quality, and contractual obligations
* Support design-led tendering, estimating, and project review processes
* Develop conceptual and detailed engineering designs, including drawings and technical documentation
* Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to confirm capability, resources, and compliance
* Support procurement including equipment selection and scope development
* Assist in preparing tender submissions and project execution planning
* Manage projects through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover phases
* Maintain project documentation including quality records, risk assessments, commissioning documentation, and as-built records
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards, procedures, and client requirements
Qualifications
* Hold an Engineering qualification – Degree in Process Engineering or equivalent aligned to pumping and water treatment
* Hold a current driver's licence
* Experience in tender submissions, processes, and contractual obligations
* Experience within the pumping / water / wastewater / filtration industry
* Candidates must be legally permitted to work in Australia
