**Job Title:** Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist
**Reports to:** Unit Managers
The CT Technologist is responsible for preparing and operating equipment to acquire diagnostic images. The technologist performs patient care, documents exams in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), and ensures images are archived in PACS.
**Key Responsibilities:
* Prepares CT equipment by conducting warm-up, calibration, and quality control procedures.
* Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions.
* Ensures exam room supplies are available for patient care.
* Coordinates patient exams with orders, EHR, and patient's care team.
* Delivers patient care under the scope of license/training.
* Operates CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images and information.
* Assists patients on and off the scanner.
* Completes exam documentation in EHR, transmits images to PACS.
**Requirements:
* Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic technology or related field.
* Current Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist license and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
* Registered or eligible for CT certification by the ARRT within the first year after start of employment.
* BLS required.
* Advanced CT certification required within 12 months of hire date.
**Skills & Competencies:
* Ability to adapt to changing pace within the department.
* Knowledge of anatomy, cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, medical terminology.
* Effective interpersonal and communications skills.
* Maintains inventory of exam room, maintains a clean and safe working environment.
* Computer skills for effective patient care and communication.
