Administration Officer AO6BI – Batchelor / Alice Springs
Position classification: Administration Officer AO6BI ($105,044 - $117,429).
Location: Batchelor or Alice Springs.
Reporting to Director VET Business Operations and Dean of Higher Education and Research.
Licences: Applicants must have an Ochre Card and a current Police Check and / or the ability to obtain these prior to commencement.

Purpose of the Position
The Digital Learning Experience Coordinator plays a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's digital education landscape.
This position leads the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the Learning Management System (CANVAS), ensuring a cohesive and high-quality online learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include establishing a robust e-learning framework, developing policies and procedures that support effective digital delivery, transforming existing training materials into engaging online content, and building staff capability through tailored training and guidance.
The role also oversees system maintenance to uphold quality, compliance, and a consistently positive learning experience.
Working in close collaboration with internal stakeholders, the Digital Learning Experience Coordinator ensures that all online learning initiatives reflect the organisation's strategic priorities, align with pedagogical best practice, meet regulatory requirements, and remain grounded in the Batchelor Institute's Both-Ways philosophy.
Duties
Develop, maintain and review the configuration, and implementation of the CANVAS LMS to support quality online education delivery.
Convert existing training materials by interpreting technical and compliance-focused content and transforming it into engaging, learner-friendly modules.
Collaborate closely with Compliance, Systems, and academic teams to ensure all digital content meets organisational, regulatory, and RTO standards.
Develop and facilitate professional development, training sessions, and instructional resources that support staff capability and ensure a consistent, high-quality approach to LMS design and delivery.
Develop online learning policies, procedures, and user instructions that support consistent, compliant practice and ensure all online content is accessible and inclusive in line with web accessibility standards and the Disability Discrimination Act.
Act as the systems administrator and be responsible for the technical oversight of CANVAS, including managing content updates, user roles, and integrations.
Develop processes to manage system performance, user engagement, and feedback to drive continuous improvement in the online learning experience.
Troubleshoot technical and system related issues related to the design and deployment of LMS.
Selection Criteria
Demonstrated experience to work effectively in culturally diverse teams within the social, political, and cultural environments of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, communities, and organisations.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication which can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all educational levels, and multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience in the implementation and management of a Learning Management System, preferably CANVAS.
Demonstrated knowledge and practical understanding of the structure, intent, and application of Training Packages and related regulatory frameworks in a digital e-learning context.
Experience operating effectively within a compliance-driven environment, with the ability to apply regulatory requirements to daily work practices.
Demonstrated experience in the development of policies, procedures, and work instructions related to education delivery.
Demonstrated proficiency in digital tools and platforms relevant to online learning and content creation including interfaces to other systems.
Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and practices, and ability to comply with Institute WHS Policies and Procedures.
Desirable: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent.
