About the Centre
The Peter Krenz Leisure Centre is owned by the City of Greater Bendigo and proudly managed by the YMCA. The Centre provides a wide range of programs and activities, including Learn to Swim, Group Fitness, Recreational Swimming, Health and Fitness, Stadium and Squash hire. The main goal of the YMCA is to provide opportunities for all people to be more active, more often and help them reach their personal fitness goals. Our friendly team is highly qualified and has the experience to help you reach your training goals – whatever they may be.
About the Role
As a Swim Teacher at Peter Krenz, you will be developing and delivering lesson plans that promote swimming skill building in school-aged children, combining stroke development with water safety and enhancing the overall confidence and ability of your students.
Structure and design lessons with appropriate activities that challenge and develop your students swimming and water safety ability
Recommend students for level progression as appropriate
Teach and model effective problem-solving skills and conflict resolution skills
This is a Casual role with an hourly rate up to $***** + super & Y Benefits.
About You
You will be passionate about inspiring and developing water safety and swimming skills in children and young people. Experience in other teaching or coaching roles is a bonus but not necessary. Personal attributes such as patience, respect, and enthusiasm will take you far as a Swim Teacher

Demonstrate a passion and enthusiasm to teach children to swim
Provide excellent customer service to parents and students alike
Be motivated and committed to perform to a high standard

Essential Qualifications
HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Accredited Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (AUSTSWIM or equivalent)- funding may be available
Other Desired Qualifications
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
Teacher of Infants and Preschool Aquatics
Teacher Developing Competitive Strokes or equivalent
Teacher of Aquatics - Access and Inclusion
