We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and professional individual to join the Environmental Health team who will be responsible for carrying out scheduled inspections of licenced and registered premises while providing support, guidance and coaching to direct reports.Join and positive and supportive work culture supported by a professional and passionate team that aims to achieve good outcomes for the community. Specifically, the role objectives are to: Deliver an efficient and effective public and environmental health service relating to food premises, legionella control, commercial and public owned swimming pools, skin penetration and onsite sewage management. Manage and investigate complaints on health-related issues including food-borne illness outbreaks and undertake regulatory action as required by legislation Provide detailed assessments of development applications relevant to environmental health requirements Provide expert advice and information to the community, Council and other stakeholders to raise awareness of community safety matters and inform them of relevant legislative and policy requirements and changes. Our ideal candidate will have the following: Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent qualifications acceptable for membership of the Australian Institute of Environmental Health. Considerable experience as an Environmental Health Officer or similar position. Extensive technical skills and expertise in interpreting relevant Local Government, Public Health and Environmental Legislation. Demonstrated ability to prepare technical reports on investigations and outcomes of environmental, public and community health issues. Excellent customer service, negotiation, written and verbal communication skills and conflict resolution. Experience in supervision, training, mentoring and coaching staff. Current NSW Driver’s Licence - Class C.
