This role offers a chance to bring your skills to a highly skilled team that is compassionate, adaptive, and proactive, delivering exceptional results to our international partners.Working closely with the Regional Director, Country Directors, operational HR Managers, and other senior management, you will provide guidance on HR policies and practices, and participate in regional decision-making. The role has strategic and operational responsibilities for HR activities across Australia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, and Timor Leste. Managing ex-pat staff from around the world and national staff from various countries adds complexity to the HR function.NOTE : Applicants must have, or be willing to seek, a legal right to work in Australia. Adherence to MAF’s purpose, vision, and values is essential.ResponsibilitiesTo succeed, you will provide strategic HR Business Partner services to stakeholders in the Asia Pacific Region, including Resourcing Groups. You should have a degree or equivalent, and ideally hold a professional HR qualification. You will develop strong relationships, support regional programs through visits, participate in conferences, oversee workforce and succession planning, and identify learning and development opportunities for staff.The ideal candidate will have managerial experience, good negotiation skills, cross-cultural experience, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to travel. Experience in project management and working overseas in a mission context is desirable. You should have experience developing and maintaining policies and standards, ensuring legal and operational compliance. The role also includes acting as the global deputy Safeguarding Coordinator to ensure safeguarding standards are met and overseeing safeguarding officers in the region.You will establish and maintain close relationships with the Asia Pacific HR Team, providing support, feedback, and guidance, and encouraging a positive work environment.As part of the HR department, you will oversee recruitment, provide guidance and training, support onboarding, and work closely with the CHRO on key projects.Applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia and a strong desire to support managers and employees.
