Bawinanga Homelands Aboriginal Corporation (BHAC) is one of the largest Aboriginal corporations in Northern Australia. Based in Maningrida, BHAC represents and supports approximately 4,000 Aboriginal people across 32 Homelands in West Arnhem Land. Our work is grounded in people's traditional lands, culture and language. BHAC exists to support safe, strong people connected to country through culture, language and land. We deliver a wide range of community services, employment programs and enterprises across Maningrida and surrounding Homelands, working closely with community, government and partner organisations.

We are seeking an organised and practical Stores &Logistics Manager to coordinate purchasing, inventory and logistics to support BHAC's housing, construction and operational activities.

This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring materials and equipment are ordered, stored and delivered efficiently to support works across Maningrda and surrounding Homelands.

About the Role

The Stores and Logistics Manager is responsible for coordinating the purchasing, storage and distribution of materials and equipment required by BHAC's Housing and Construction teams. The role ensures stock is well organised, materials are available when needed, and freight and deliveries are coordinated efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

* Managing purchasing, receiving, storage and distribution of materials and equipment
* Maintaining and improving inventory systems and stock control processes
* Coordinating freight, deliveries and transport to worksites and homelands
* Monitoring stock levels and arranging timely ordering of materials
* Organising and maintaining the stores area so materials and tools are safely stored and easy to locate
* Checking deliveries, inspecting materials and resolving supply issues with vendors
* Operating forklift and equipment for loading and unloading materials where required
* Conducting stocktakes and maintaining accurate inventory records
* Preparing stock and inventory reports for management and finance
* Supervising and mentoring a part-time Indigenous Storeperson
* Supporting Housing and Construction teams with materials planning and logistics
* Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency in procurement, inventory and stores operations.

This is a practical, hands-on role working across the work yards and warehouse as well as coordinating purchasing and logistics.

About You

We are looking for someone who is practical, organised and able to manage a busy stores environment while supporting operational teams.

You will be well suited to the role if you can demonstrate:

* Experience in stores, warehouse, logistics or inventory management
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
* Experience with stock control systems, procurement and supplier coordination
* Ability to coordinate freight, deliveries and materials logistics
* Good administrative skills including purchase orders and record keeping
* Strong communication skills and ability to work with staff, suppliers and contractors
* Experience supervising or mentoring team members
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word)
* Current forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
* National police clearance and Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance) or ability to obtain.
* Experience coordinating freight to remote locations, including barge, road freight or regional supply chains, will be highly regarded.
