Key Traffic Leadership Role
As a strategic leader, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing traffic management initiatives. Your role will involve identifying present and future traffic planning needs within the area, formulating a traffic facilities works program, and submitting it to council for approval.
The position requires effective management of the Traffic Committee, preparing agenda items, investigations, and reports for Traffic Committee consideration, and implementing Traffic Committee decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and implementing traffic management plans
* Managing parking meter operations and sustainable transport strategies
* Implementing the council's adopted Cycleways Strategy and accompanying Capital Works Program
To succeed in this role, you will need experience in traffic engineering design, traffic planning, and management, as well as strong supervisory and people management skills.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Qualifications in Traffic Engineering/Planning or equivalent
* Knowledge of traffic principles and techniques
* Experience working with relevant legislation and regulations
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
