Full Job Description
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Officer will ensure efficient operation, safety, and maintenance of the facilities, equipment, and grounds at Forest Lake Lodge. The duties include performing general maintenance according to a set schedule, securing designated work areas, and maintaining accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities. The role also involves collaborating with contractors, managing maintenance requests, and assisting with equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct general maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment
Maintain accurate and current repair and maintenance records
Assist contractors and maintenance personnel working on site.
Ensure maintenance requests are logged and checked in a timely manner.
General maintenance of resident's equipment, as required.
Undertaking all duties in accordance with Forest Lake Lodge Quality Management System, policies and procedures
Participating in environmentally sustainable practices
Understand and adhere to Codes of Conduct

Essentials
* Written and verbal English language (essential), additional language skills (desirable).
* Previous experience as a handy person/Maintenance Person
* Knowledge of general maintenance practices
* Experience operating and using tools and equipment
* Knowledge of and commitment to Occupational Health and Safety principles
Skills and Experience
* Ability to comply with safe work practices
* Current drivers licence
* Good communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience interacting with a wide range of people
* Ability to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and/or their families/representatives
* Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
* Commitment to respecting the values, customs, preferences and spiritual beliefs of residents and their families/representatives
* Commitment to professional development and identifying opportunities for service improvement
* Previous experienced gained in a similar role; aged care experience highly regarded but not essential
