Job Title: Litigation Expert Advisor
Role Description:
* Deliver in-depth legal guidance on executive functions and statutory obligations.
* Lead complex litigation matters, manage external relationships, and internal performance of the litigation team.
* Manage briefing and instructing of external counsel from the private bar and outsourced legal work with solicitors and barristers in private practice.
* Analyze, develop, and drive legislative and policy change to enhance the commission's undertaking of its statutory responsibilities.
* Monitor and improve policies, procedures, work practices, and management systems to continually improve effective and efficient standards of service.
* Advise, mentor, and support the litigation team by fostering a collaborative working environment built on strong work ethic, open communication, and quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
* Be an admitted Australian lawyer and eligible for a practicing certificate in Queensland.
* Adhere to the Australian Solicitor Conduct Rules and display high standards of professional ethical conduct.
* Be accountable for statutory delegations on behalf of the commissioner and travel within Queensland for Court or Tribunal hearings.
