The Role
We're looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our technical team and oversee a comprehensive quality management program ensuring all internal, customer, and regulatory requirements related to product manufacture are met.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement and manage quality systems to ensure product safety and quality requirements are met.
* Mitigate risk of non-conformances against internal, customer, and regulatory specifications and requirements.
* E nsure all requirements for each site's certifications are met.
* Prepare and send product for shelf-life testing, mandatory microbial testing, and individual customer testing requirements.
* Review production paperwork, conduct inline checks, and test product prior to release.
* Develop and maintain a training register across sites to meet QMS requirements.
* Deliver team member training on quality processes to ensure requirements are understood and met.
* Communicate non-conformances and corrective actions to team members to mitigate future occurrences.
Requirements
* Minimum three years' work experience in a quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment.
* Bachelor of Food Science or similar degree with a strong understanding of pet food, BRC, and consumer goods standards.
* Working knowledge and experience with pet food and treats, grains, seeds, and other biological material relating to pet consumable products.
* Experience working with external laboratories and ability to understand and interpret results.
* Ability to apply scientific methodology to develop processes ensuring compliance across various end consumer products.
* Excellent time management and communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external customers.
