Case Management Officer (Custody)
Location: Bathurst, Lithgow, Kirkconnell Correctional Centres

Grade: Clerk Grade 5/6
Salary: $99,938 - $110,271
Responsible for delivering evidence‐based case management to a diverse caseload of offenders, ensuring their individual risks and needs are addressed to maximise rehabilitation opportunities and reduce reoffending.
What You'll Do
* Deliver high‐quality, evidence‐based case management services to offenders, ensuring all activities align with relevant legislation, policies and guidelines.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify risks, needs and strengths, using these to develop personalised case plans that support offenders through their rehabilitation journey.
* Apply motivational interviewing and strengths‐based approaches to support behavioural change and encourage offender accountability.
* Work collaboratively with internal and external service providers to connect offenders with programmes and interventions that best align with their individual case plans.
* Monitor progress against case plans, ensuring compliance with judicial and departmental requirements, and preparing timely reports and documentation.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to support effective reintegration planning and assist offenders in making a successful transition back into the community.
What We're Looking For
* Demonstrated experience delivering evidence‐based interventions to diverse offender groups, including those with complex needs.
* Proficiency in using risk assessments and case management tools to design targeted, outcomes‐focused intervention plans.
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills, with experience addressing challenging behaviours using proven behavioural intervention strategies.
* Sound understanding of contemporary correctional practices, with a commitment to offender rehabilitation and reducing reoffending.
* Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams to provide cohesive, person‐centred case management support.
* A current Certificate IV in Correctional Practice with the relevant Units of Competency or the ability to complete the qualification through the Corrective Services Academy within required timeframes.
* Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in human services or related fields (preferred but not essential).
