Support financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting functions at Delta, contributing to Australia's energy sector and learning from experts.
Your role
Responsibilities
* Preparing monthly accruals, general journals, and accounting entries for operating and capital expenditure.
* Performing reconciliations of balance sheet, profit and loss, and subsidiary ledgers.
* Investigating variances, correcting ledger and system errors, and supporting training of operational staff on cost accounting processes.
* Assisting with the preparation and updating of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and budget variation submissions.
* Compiling and analysing cost centre, contract expenditure, and operations review reports.
* Maintaining the fixed asset register for accounting and tax purposes, including depreciation schedules and policy updates.
* Processing creditor claims and supporting contract and payment workflows in Ellipse and Salesforce systems.
* Providing backup support to Accounts Payable and assisting the Management Accountant as needed.
* Collaborating with operational teams to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
About you
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related commercial discipline.
* A basic understanding of accounting standards, journal preparation, and financial reconciliations.
* Some exposure to budgeting, reporting, and financial variance analysis.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with financial systems such as general ledger and reporting tools.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
