What you'll do

This is a role with real scope to add value as our Outsourced Accounting Team grows and adapts. We're building on our recent rapid growth by investing in better systems and smarter processes, with a focus on quality and client care. If you enjoy variety and appreciate being part of positive change, you'll join a supportive team that values integrity, collaboration, and high‐quality work as we set up for the future together. In this role, you'll:

* Review, verify, and publish financial documents using Dext; perform reconciliations (bank, credit card, loan, general ledger, GST, and payroll) and process basic payroll.
* Prepare financial reports, workpapers, and compliance statements (BAS, IAS, SGC) while researching GST and other compliance matters.
* Proactively manage client communication, respond to queries, and provide advisory support.
* Participate in client meetings and recommend process improvements to enhance outcomes.
* Escalate unusual or inconsistent account transactions or balances for further review.
* Support internal process improvements, system implementation and workflow optimisation.
* Collaborate with team members to deliver consistent, high‐quality outcomes for clients.
* Provide development, coaching, and mentoring opportunities to less experienced team members as required.
* Act as an escalation point for complex reconciliations or compliance queries.
* Perform month end processes, including verifying balance sheet items and reviewing profit and loss.

What you'll bring

* At least 5 years' experience in a similar bookkeeping or BAS Agent role.
* Experience using Xero, Microsoft Office essential, MYOB highly regarded.
* Professional, client‐focused and invested in building trusted client relationships.
* Excellent prioritisation, attention to detail, time management and organisational skills, with the ability to adapt in high‐pressure situations.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
