Your Opportunity
As the Network Manager, you will work within Enterprise Infrastructure and be responsible for the network infrastructure lifecycle including planning, supplier and vendor management and operational responsibilities.
This includes managing the network team and delivering incident, change and problem resolution, customer and vendor relationship management, the development and deployment of strategic services, capabilities, processes, practices, policies and/or systems and provide timely and appropriate information and advice to key stakeholders, supporting high-quality decision making.
The ICT Enterprise Infrastructure team manages and delivers day to day and future core enterprise solutions. Enterprise infrastructure consist of 5 major work units:
- Networks
- Cloud and Server
- Identity Management
- ICT Operations
- Solutions Architecture
This position reports to the Director, Enterprise Infrastructure Services.
This is a Permanent, Full-Time opportunity.
The position will be based primarily at Mount Gravatt, however it can be negotiated to work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team, developing individuals and influencing stakeholder groups. Coordinate network operational activities to ensure high-quality day-to-day operation of network infrastructure.
- Manage the performance of network services provided by both internal and external service providers to ensure service levels are met and business areas are positively impacted.
- Drive network infrastructure change to deliver scalability, availability, performance and adoption of new technologies to increase business value.
- Lead the automation of network operational tasks to improve service delivery and maximise consistency of implementation.
- Lead the monitoring and performance of network services.
- Engage and communicate effectively with TAFE Queensland business and stakeholders to ensure all operational impacts are understood, agreed and minimised.
- Collaborate with other teams in ICT Enterprise Infrastructure to deliver services.
- Provide advice into architecture, strategy and roadmaps to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure all work is closely aligned with TAFE Queensland's strategic vision and operational plans.
- Provide leadership across multiple teams, both within the team and from various vendors, as required to achieve the outcomes agreed with the customer.
- Promote adherence to all policies, standards, change management and processes.
- Actively contribute to the preparation of plans, approaches, and timeframes for the delivery of new ICT policies, standards and solutions that will support effective ICT operations.
- Maintain and develop relevant professional knowledge and skills.

- Demonstrated and applied knowledge of enterprise networks infrastructure and complex networking environments.
- Demonstrated ability and relevant achievement in the leadership of ICT infrastructure initiatives including scoping, planning, scheduling, and implementing technical solutions within timeframes and budgets.
- Proven high-level of skill in leading, managing and developing technical staff and establish and manage professional networks with internal and external clients, vendors, and key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and an ability to identify and address customer problems in developing effective solutions in a large and diverse organisation within timeframes, objectives, and quality requirements.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence vendors and staff at all levels through consultation, negotiations, promoting and influencing decision making.
- Demonstrated ability to live and promote a strong ICT team culture that values the contributions of all team members, is honest and considerate, and through that establishes and maintains a highly respected high performance team.
