My client are a very well regarded financial services firm dedicated to providing personalised and professional service to their clients. As a small business, they pride themselves on a supportive, hands‑on, and energetic team culture. We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail‑oriented Financial Accountant to join their tight‑knit team and become an integral part of the daily operations and future growth.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the business. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys a varied workload and wants to gain broad exposure across all aspects of accounting.
Key Responsibilities will include:
* Financial Reporting: Preparing basic reports and assisting with budget analysis as required by management.
* Month‑End Support: Assisting with month‑end closing procedures, including journal entries and balance sheet schedules.
* Accounts Payable and Receivable: Processing invoices, managing supplier payments, and following up on outstanding accounts.
* Bank and General Ledger Reconciliations: Performing timely and accurate reconciliations of bank accounts and key balance sheet accounts.
* Payroll Support: Assisting with the preparation and processing of fortnightly/monthly payroll, superannuation, and leave entitlements.
* Compliance: Preparing and lodging relevant statutory requirements such as BAS, IAS, and FBT returns.

Qualifications
* Relevant Qualification: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent, ideally studying towards your CA/CPA.
* Experience: More than 4 years' experience in a similar accounting role
* Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and a methodical approach to tasks.
* Willingness to Learn: A strong desire to learn new accounting skills and best practices.
* Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to interact professionally with staff and suppliers.
* Work Ethic: A 'can‑do' attitude and the ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
