About You
You're an experienced Project Scheduler who thrives on bringing structure and clarity to complex Defence projects. While you're hands-on with scheduling, you also excel at mentoring others, solving problems, and coaching teams through scheduling challenges. You're passionate about uplifting scheduling standards across Defence and implementing best practices. You enjoy working with advanced scheduling tools and take pride in delivering accurate, insightful schedules that drive project success. You're collaborative by nature, confident engaging with stakeholders, and committed to initiatives that strengthen Australia\'s Defence capability.
Please note: This is a fixed term contract to 30 June 2026. Candidates may be based anywhere in Australia (except WA), provided they already hold an active AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance and have Defence scheduling experience.
What you will be involved in
- Developing and maintaining project schedules using Open Plan Professional (OPP) and/or Cobra
- Mentoring and coaching team members on scheduling practices and resolving complex scheduling issues
- Implementing schedule quality benchmarking and improvement initiatives
- Providing input into project control documentation, training content, and mentoring activities
- Assisting with schedule risk integration and dependency management
- Supporting schedule baseline management and configuration control processes
- Delivering schedule assurance, reporting, and ad-hoc SME support to project teams
- Driving policy implementation and uplift of scheduling standards across Defence
What we would like from you
- Required to already hold an active AGSVA NV1 security clearance (minimum requirement)
- Proven experience as a Project Scheduler specifically with Defence environments
- Proficiency in Open Plan Professional (OPP) and/or Cobra scheduling tools
- Strong understanding of project controls, schedule risk, and dependency integration
- Ability to interpret and apply Defence project management frameworks and standards
- A cooperative mindset with strong mentoring and problem-solving skills
