About the role
As Laboratory Technician with Metro Mining, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of laboratory testing procedures.
By adhering to QA/QC processes, maintaining equipment, and upholding safety standards, our Laboratory Technician contributes to the successful operation and productivity of Metro Mining.
Key Responsibilities
Sample preparation and analysis
Operating relevant testing equipment
Data collection
General laboratory duties
Maintain a clean and safe workspace, and abide by workplace health and safety policies and procedures
Other tasks as directed.
Essential Requirements
2+ years’ experience in the mining in the same or similar role.
Minimum Cert III in Laboratory Skills or (other relevant qualifications)
Radiation Safety License (desirable but not essential)
Current C Class driving license
First Aid certification (desirable but not essential)
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Understanding of QA/QC processes.
A firm understanding of resource related laboratory operations is desirable, however training can be provided.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to prioritise workload.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Flexibility to work with a broad work scope if required.
A strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team to achieve laboratory objectives in a safe and efficient manner is required
Able to work within and contribute to the team, working with a diverse team environment.
Cultural awareness and sensitivity to support equity and diversity.
