* Base Salary starting from $89,755- $100,495 + 17% superannuation

The Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney is the largest division of the University of

It has a long and proud history of research and research translation and directly undertakes, hosts, sponsors and supports world-leading biomedical, clinical, health services and public and population health research across its principal tertiary facilities, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Concord Repatriation General Hospital, Sydney Dental Hospital, Canterbury Hospital, Balmain Hospital, as well as a number of eminent medical research institutes.

The University is seeking to employee a Research Assistant ( HEO 5) to provide essential operational support of projects and research activities across the Allied Health Professions in the Sydney Local District and the Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney. This role is pivotal in coordinating projects and stakeholders as well as fostering effective communication. With a focus on operational excellence, the Research Assistant supports various phases of project development, contributing to the overall success of project goals.

This position will work with the Conjoint Professors of Allied Health (University of Sydney and Sydney Local District) to develop and evaluate capacity and capability initiatives targeted at health professionals and researchers working in Sydney Local Health District.

Working under broad supervision, the Research Assistant is responsible for selecting appropriate work methods, planning, and prioritizing tasks to ensure smooth project execution. They handle routine matters independently and collaborate with others to address more complex challenges, ensuring that project outcomes are delivered effectively.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

* work closely and support the Professors of Allied Health and the Allied health professoriate and liase regularly with Sydney Local Health District clinicians and research staff
* provide administration and operational support and coordination for projects, research and educational activities
* assist with conducting qualitative and quantitative research across SLHD and University of Sydney and provide specific research support
* contribute to organisation of education and training programs designed to enhance allied health clinician skills and knowledge
* build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, fostering collaboration and ensuring effective communication.

About you

* hold a tertiary qualification in an allied health profession or other related heath disciplines
* hold an understanding of the NSW public health system
* experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, with a strong ability to engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders
* experience in developing and working on research projects including ethics submissions, grant/protocol writing, literature searches, using statistical analysis tools
* demonstrated experience in project administration and coordination, including managing multiple projects at one time
* highly organized with strong time management skills and ability to work independently
* excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills
* proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with excellent attention to detail and numeracy skills to support project data analysis and reporting
* ability to work in the office (at the University of Sydney Camperdown Campus) and travel between the hospital facilities and institutes as needed for specific project tasks and meetings.
