Job Overview
This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced paralegal to support the asset management and legal teams in a dynamic environment. As a Property Paralegal, you will be responsible for providing advice on the operational management of assets across Australia and New Zealand.
You will work closely with internal business units and external stakeholders to onboard assets, update records, and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. This role requires strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills.
In this position, you will have the ability to work independently while supporting the wider team. Your expertise in property law, rural and agricultural matters, and standard FIRB reporting obligations will be valuable assets in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide advice on the implementation of operational management of all assets across Australia and New Zealand
* Liaise with internal business units and external stakeholders to onboard assets and provide assistance as required
* Update land records when acquiring or selling assets and communicate with related stakeholders
* Maintain compliance with relevant regulatory requirements relating to land ownership and forestry/agricultural management
* Monitor legal and regulatory changes in the asset management environment and make recommendations on strategies to manage those changes
* Review and adopt new technologies to assist in record keeping
* Provide ongoing administrative support and undertake ad-hoc projects
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
* Solid experience as a paralegal, with rural property or agribusiness experience preferred
* Understanding of property law, rural and agricultural matters, water law, commodities, forestry, carbon markets
* Strong drafting skills
* Technical and technology skills
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
* Excellent organizational and communication skills
* A team player, able to work under pressure and deadlines
* An ability to work independently and take ownership of the role, while supporting the wider team
