Ready to Lead Finance at a Global, VC-Backed Scale-Up?
Most finance roles at this level have you owning a piece of something. A slice of compliance. A portion of month end. One entity in a larger structure.
This is different. You'd own the entire finance function across Australia, UK, Europe, US, and India. Global compliance, month end reporting, inventory accounting, invoicing. All of it, reporting directly to the COO.
About the Company
Our client is a Melbourne-based hardware and software scale-up building intelligent systems for enterprise customers. Their technology helps large global companies optimise operations and reduce costs through data-driven insights. Growing customer base across multiple industries internationally.
Circa 50 people with presence in Melbourne, Sydney, and internationally. Well-funded by leading venture capital. Founded by experienced entrepreneurs.
The Opportunity
You'd be the finance lead, not a finance contributor.
Full ownership of global compliance and month end across five jurisdictions, coordinating external accounting support across regions.
You'd work with hardware, not just software.
Inventory accounting, supply chain finance support, physical product costing. If you've only done SaaS, this will stretch you. If you've done FMCG or manufacturing, you'll feel at home.
You'd build the processes, not inherit them.
Quote to cash workflows, regional compliance playbooks, documented handoffs between sales and finance. The structure doesn't exist yet. You'd create it.
You'd have direct access to leadership.
Small team, second time founders, no layers between you and decision makers.
What you'd do
* Own month end close across five jurisdictions, coordinating with external accounting support across regions
* Manage inventory accounting and supply chain finance support
* Take on invoicing, billing, and collections
* Work with the sales team on quoting and pricing
* Build documented processes for quote to cash and regional compliance
What you'd bring
Your inventory or physical product background means the hardware side won't be a learning curve. You've worked with costing, SKUs, and supply chain finance before.
Your multi jurisdiction experience means you can manage compliance across AU, UK, US, and Europe without needing to figure it out as you go.
Your hands on approach means you're still doing the work, not just reviewing it.
CA or CPA qualified with 6 to 8+ years experience.
Familiarity with Xero, Maxio, Salesforce, or Cin7 is useful but not essential.
