Technical Oracle Database Specialist
A seasoned Oracle database professional is sought to provide technical consulting and managed services for customers in Australia and New Zealand. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining databases, as well as performing database recoveries and providing direction to junior team members.
About the Role
* Design and build databases, schemas, stored procedures, and other database objects.
* Set up routine database backup procedures and disaster recovery environments.
* Perform database recoveries and ensure high availability of critical systems.
* Provide technical guidance to developers and end-users on database usage, query development, and tuning.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop operating system scripts to automate backups, data transfers, and monitoring.
* Support database connectivity from client applications and design secure database architectures.
* Assist project teams with database-related tasks and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
* Mentor junior team members and provide knowledge transfer in alignment with industry standards.
Requirements
* Minimum 8 years of experience as a database administrator with expertise in Oracle Core DBA Architecture.
* Strong experience with Oracle Database versions 10g through 19c across UNIX/Linux and Windows platforms.
* Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements, administering database security, and data recovery.
* Experience with Oracle Recovery Manager, Grid Infrastructure, Real Application Clusters, and Automatic Storage Management.
Desirable Skills
* Experience managing databases on engineered systems such as Exadata and Oracle Database Appliance (ODA).
* Experience with cloud-based databases on OCI, AWS, Azure, or PaaS environments.
* Knowledge of SSO and E-Business Suite 11i/R12.
* Ability to develop technical architecture solutions to meet customer requirements.
