Public Relations - Asia Pacific, Assistant Vice President
State Street (STT) is looking for an experienced media and public relations professional to join its Global Public Relations team as Assistant Vice President, Public Relations for Asia Pacific.
This candidate will specialize in media relations, be driven, and looking to take their career to the next level. They should have solid relationships with top-tier business and financial trade publications across the Asia Pacific continent and be experienced at proactively pitching complex stories, as well as managing reputational issues.
Based in Asia Pacific (Australia preferred), this role will focus on developing and executing global PR strategy for State Street across Asia Pacific. The candidate will work closely with the regional and global PR teams, business marketing functions, State Street Asia Pacific leadership and PR agencies on a daily basis.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with colleagues on the internal global PR team, global marketing and external PR agencies to create, refine and deliver differentiated media driven activity in support of the firm’s corporate PR strategy and State Street’s individual business units’ objectives.
* Develop media campaign strategies around the business’ latest thought leadership, including topics such as asset stewardship, retirement, emerging markets, quantitative investing and private credit.
* Build collaborative relationships with business stakeholders and partners to align PR strategy with business objectives.
* Independently own programs/campaigns from concept through to execution.
* Compose and edit content including press releases, bylines, talking points, media briefings social and digital media.
* Support media interactions of business stakeholders at industry conferences.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5-7 years of direct experience in communications, media relations and/or public relations fields with a track record of successful developing relationships with journalists and tier 1 media outlets – print, broadcast and online.
* Ideal candidate will also have experience in banking, financial services and asset management industries with strong relationships with relevant journalists covering the industry.
* Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
* Experience with executive PR and media relations programs.
* Ability to create and manage integrated PR/marketing plans and timelines.
* Command of traditional, digital, social and integrated marketing tactics.
