About the Role
Visy is seeking experienced Pulp Mill Production Operators supporting operations at its Tumut pulp and paper facility. The role focuses on safely operating and monitoring complex manufacturing systems within integrated pulp and paper production environments effectively. Successful candidates will manage production processes while ensuring operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and workplace safety consistently.
The position also involves working across multiple industrial systems including chemical recovery, evaporation, lime kiln, and power generation processes. Additionally, operators will control systems remotely using digital control technologies while conducting physical inspections and maintenance support activities. Candidates should confidently troubleshoot manufacturing issues and perform effectively within fast paced industrial environments professionally.
Job Duties
* Operate and monitor pulp mill systems ensuring safe and efficient manufacturing performance continuously.
* Manage industrial processes including chemical recovery, evaporation, digester, and lime kiln operations effectively.
* Control manufacturing systems remotely using digital control systems from the pulp mill control room professionally.
* Conduct physical inspections, routine checks, and process sample collection activities across operational areas consistently.
* Analyze process performance and implement corrective actions improving production efficiency and operational reliability.
* Identify maintenance requirements and coordinate equipment isolation for repair and servicing activities effectively.
* Collaborate with maintenance and operational teams supporting production targets and continuous improvement initiatives successfully.
* Maintain compliance with workplace safety policies and operational procedures within industrial manufacturing environments consistently.
Job Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in engineering, pulp and paper operations, or related industrial disciplines required.
* Minimum five years of experience within pulp mills, refineries, or complex manufacturing environments professionally required.
* Strong troubleshooting abilities supporting industrial process optimization and operational issue resolution effectively.
* Ability to work safely within hot, noisy, and physically demanding manufacturing environments consistently required.
* Basic computer skills supporting digital process monitoring and operational reporting activities professionally.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills supporting collaborative industrial production environments effectively.
* Reliability working rotating rosters including nights, weekends, and public holidays successfully required.
* Boiler or turbine high risk work licenses considered highly advantageous for eligible candidates professionally.
