About the role Diageo is a leading premium drinks company whose success is built by the marketing & sales of its spirits, Packaged Beer, RTD & draught brands. It is a consumer led organisation with an industry leading marketing department of which you could be a part of! Look no further as the Whisky team are looking for a passionate and experienced marketer to play a key leadership role in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans on the Single Malts portfolio of brands in Australia. This is a very rare opportunity to steer this luxury portfolio of global icons such as Talisker and Lagavulin, and emerging brands such as The Singleton, into a new stage of growth. As the Brand Manager you will be focused on building a share winning and premiumisation-based strategy to grow our Single Malts brands in the highly competitive alcoholic beverages category. This will need to be done in partnership with multiple local and Global Brand teams and there is a significant opportunity for Australia to play a leading role in shaping the development and deployment of winning strategies and tactics. So, what does this role look like for you? You'll own and lead the end-to-end Single Malts strategy including development of best-in-class yearly and quarterly Marketing Business Plans (MBP) identifying growth initiatives and activations that drive commercial and brand success across Retail, On Premise, Direct to Consumer and High Net Worth channels Lead the execution of the brand and portfolio plans through the business across all functions, and liaise with the GBT to localize the global brand strategy and growth drivers You will work closely with the Innovation Team to prioritize the 3 year innovation pipeline and launch NPD to market You will partner with Finance, Supply and Commercial functions to maximise the global volume allocation of liquid across the portfolio, to drive profit and growth You will partner with the Prestige sales team and Whisky Ambassador to create aspiration and advocacy for the Single Malts brands in the market You will own the Single Malts P&L and be required to closely monitor brand performance on a monthly basis and working with commercial teams to make interventions where required You'll lead budget management for all brand advertising and promotion investment (A&P) Effectively manage strategic agency relationships Set standards of execution excellence for Diageo brands, agencies & our internal teams, & hold them accountable So, what about you? We want you to love our brands as much as we do, so it is critical that you lead with high levels of emotional energy and impact in order to drive the brand's agenda within the business. A passion for, or interest in, Whisky/Wine category will put you in good stead. An undergraduate in business/marketing would be beneficial Strong proven experience creating strategies for growth Experience in brand management in FMCG or alcohol industry is desired You're insights driven and curious about consumers and what drives them, you have ability to unlock insights to change consumer relationships with brands Good commercial experience driving portfolio commercial outcomes Creative – Proven experience inspiring and collaborating with agency partners to deliver breakthrough communications thinking. Thinks outside existing paradigms and nurtures big ideas.
