**About the role**

Aviairis seeking an experienced **Q400 Training Manager** to join our growing team.

As the **Q400 Training Manager** you will act as the principal flight crew advisor to the Head of Training and Checking and Fleet Manager. You will be responsible for the management of all flight crew training and checking on the Q400 aircraft in accordance with the company policies and procedures and ensure compliance under the civil aviation law of all crew training activities conducted by the company.

**Key Duties and responsibilities of the role include**
- Ensure that all crew training activities are conducted in compliance with the relevant administrative, financial, and corporate governance requirements established by the Company
- Review and maintain the flight crew training manuals and related documents
- Ensure compliance with the contracted levels of externally provided training activities for flight crew, including minimum guaranteed performance and certification
- Organise required training and monitor and check records to ensure appropriateness, relevance, and accuracy. Conduct flight crew technical training courses as directed and in accordance with CASA approvals
- Conduct regular reviews of company operating procedures, training and checking policy procedure and documentation, and the recommendation of appropriate changes to ensure accuracy and relevancy
- Develop and maintain a system of internal reporting
- Assess and check training and checking flight crew in order to verify their performance in accordance with CASA safety standards and the company safety and customer service standards and procedure
- Address concern with individual flight crew performance and implement remedial and ongoing training
- Provide aircraft type specialist knowledge in operational areas, including aircraft type and technical aspects, performance and navigation data, maintenance check flight procedure and crewing, route fuel burn monitoring, flight manual contents
- Be pro-active in safety and to promptly assist in the investigation of any safety related issue and to advise the appropriate management personnel of the outcome and any corrective action or procedures

**To be successful in this role you will demonstrate**:

- Previous management of training and checking in air operations
- Experience in operations management in an aviation environment
- A CASA issued air transport license or equivalent with aeroplane category rating
- Have at least 500 hours of flight time on an aircraft that is the same or substantially like the type of aircraft
- Evidence of having satisfactorily managed aircraft operations under an AOC or equivalent foreign authorisation
- A sound working knowledge in matters regarding safety and aviation regulation so as to be able to safely conduct the company’s activities in accordance with the company manual and civil aviation legislation
- Possess strong computer and administration skills
- Be results orientated, lateral thinker, who can problem solve and trouble-shoot
- Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to learn and interpret relevant legislations, agreements and awards
- High level of organisational and time management skills with accuracy and consistency
- Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate issued by CASA or equivalent
- A working knowledge of regulatory requirements including Part 121 (preferable)
