Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Nuriootpa, SA for a Belt Splicer/Rubber Liner. The job involves performing manual tasks such as the splicing and maintenance of conveyor belts, rubber lining, and other related activities. Responsibilities will include working with materials, using hand tools to complete tasks, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring operational efficiency during tasks. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to manage physical labour in a team-based environment and the ability to work away from home when required as well as some weekend work.
Responsibilities will include:
Steel Cord Belt Splicing
Fabric Belt Splicing
Conveyor Inspections
Conveyor and Scraper Maintenance
Equipment Refurbishment
Pulley Lagging
Removing and Installing Conveyor Belts
Hot and cold vulcanization of plate and pipework
Responsible for preparation, installation, maintenance and repair of rubber lining
Ensure rubber lining activities are safely performed by using correct methods according to the materials/equipment/machinery used
Follow standard operating procedures and participate in quality control testing processes
Maintaining a safe, clean & hygienic working environment
Qualifications
Proficiency in the use of hand tools for precision and practicality in technical operations.
Ability to work safely, follow guidelines, and demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities.
Prior experience in belt splicing or rubber lining is highly regarded.
Physical fitness, including the ability to perform manual labour in varying conditions.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Must have previous leadership experience and willing to lead a team
Must have a valid driver's license
Trained in forklift operations and have a valid high-risk license is preferred
