Join Our Team as a Deputy Director, Fundraising

Are you passionate about making a difference in children's health? We are now recruiting for a full-time, ongoing Deputy Director, Fundraising. Philanthropy plays a crucial role in improving children's health and transforming the delivery of healthcare. The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation's Gift in Wills and Philanthropy (Major Gifts and Trusts and Foundations) Program aims to grow substantially over the next five years and generate significant donations through meaningful relationship management of philanthropic donors and families whilst ensuring donors feel valued and recognised.

The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Royal Children's Hospital, one of the world's leading children's hospitals. The Foundation raises and distributes donated funds to enable the very best patient and family care and support, and to save and improve the lives of sick children. The RCH Foundation works closely with the Royal Children's Hospital to achieve its vision.

The Role

The Deputy Director, Fundraising is a new and key leadership role within the Fundraising Department. The role will lead three teams within growth areas of the FY30 strategy, including Gift in Wills and Philanthropy (Major Gifts and Trusts and Foundations). It will also support the Director, Fundraising to set ambitious budgets and lead major fundraising across the campus, precincts, and future partner fundraising.

About You
* You are purpose driven and committed to the mission and values of the RCH Foundation.
* You have a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Gift in Wills, Estates and Philanthropy with a proven track record, including success in Major Gifts and Trusts and Foundations and fundraising, such as securing major gifts (six- to seven-figure) with a CEO or Fundraising Director.
* You have experience leading a Data Team to create data-led donor acquisition strategies for Gift in Wills or Major Gifts, and upskill teams to use the CRM for high-level donor management, donor research and moves management.
* You have people leadership experience with the ability to mentor, coach and lead a high-performing team.
* You have outstanding stakeholder and relationship management skills with a proven ability to build relationships with donors, supporters and key stakeholders.
* You have knowledge of Melbourne, Victorian, national and international philanthropic communities that support health, with ability to optimise high-level relationships, ideally with health or university experience.
* Ideally, you have a degree qualification, recognised fundraising qualifications and/or Executive Leadership training.
* You have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and a CRM database, preferably Salesforce CRM experience.
* You are confident in your work but know when to consult others to keep work moving and to avoid risk.
* You have a commitment to personal development.
Key Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated high-performing fundraising leader with success working with major donors or blended giving and securing $100,000+ gifts.
* Experience in data management to enhance lead generation, leading a team with CRM proficiency, donor journeys with moves management and automation.
* Experience in leading and coaching a team and building a high-performing team aligned with the Foundation's growth mindset and strategy.
* Proven track record in designing and implementing fundraising strategies and operational plans.
* Understanding of moves management, donor motivations and the philanthropic landscape.
* Strong written and oral communication skills with experience addressing major donors, trust and foundation donors, corporate representatives, senior staff, board members and volunteers; experience writing tailored donor proposals.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships, model leadership and demonstrate emotional intelligence and compassion when dealing with donors.
* Attention to detail, ability to work independently or as part of a team and manage multiple accounts and projects to tight deadlines.
* Sophisticated relationship-building and management skills with internal and external stakeholders.
* Track record of achieving goals and KPIs through ambitious donor proposals.
* Experience in achieving goals and KPIs both individually and as part of a team.
