Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to support the recommencement of operations at the Mt Carlton Mine. Located approximately two hours south of Townsville, Mt Carlton is a gold–silver operation transitioning from care and maintenance back into production.
This restart represents a rare opportunity to play a key role in re-establishing safe, efficient, and sustainable mining operations from the ground up, contributing directly to the success of a revitalised operation.
This role operates on a 7 Days On / 7 Days Off roster and is DIDO only.
About the Role:Reporting to the Technical Services leadership team, the Senior Mining Engineer will play a critical role in supporting operational readiness and ongoing production success. Key responsibilities include:Conducting all aspects of mining engineering work including mine planning, design, scheduling, drill & blast support, and equipment selectionProviding technical and commercial support to operational teamsDelivering engineering analysis and technical advice to support operational decision-makingIdentifying and contributing to continuous improvement and business improvement initiativesMaintaining and managing the production reporting systemsCollaborating closely with site teams to achieve production plan complianceAssisting with progress claims, budgeting, and forecasting activitiesMaintaining a strong commitment to safety and operational excellenceContributing to the Mining Engineering and Estimating Community of Best PracticeBuilding strong relationships through effective communication and teamwork
About You:To be successful in this role, you will bring:A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalentDemonstrated experience in a similar mining engineering roleStrong capability using mine planning softwarePrevious exposure to hard rock surface mining operations (highly regarded)Proven examples where you have contributed to operational improvements and team successExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsA proactive approach with a strong safety focus
